A bike with a Triumph Thruxton 1200R engine and Cafe Racer style, designed and transformed by Tamarit Motorcycles.
At the beginning of 2019, Tamarit Motorcycles received an email from someone who had some trouble with the handlebar set of his Triumph Motorcycle. David, the owner of the brand new Thruxton 1200 R that would later become project number 47, saw comfort when riding the bike as a priority and therefore decided to modify it with us.
And that’s why David did throw the challenge at us and asked for a new motorcycle at Tamarit Motorcycles, a creation for a different Triumph Thruxton R, aggressive and different, but without losing the inner beauty of a Cafe Racer motorcycle. Among the several unusual new features included on the bike are: the front fairing for new-generation motorcycles and the steel sump guards.
After a few basic premises were already arranged with the client, we began to send to David some Triumph bike designs and sketches, which David received gladly. Idea that he liked a lot was the motorcycle concept, which would be an Street concept, fading out that “R” look in order to get a more aggressive look but at the same time a comfy riding position due the handlebar set.
In a special way, mixed tires were added to have a much higher profile, so we had to develop a new fender from scratch so that it could fit properly. We also added a front fairing with the grille and a set of headlights inserted into the fenders of the bike.
Tamarit pursued the idea of creating a bike with a unique style that would stand out from the rest. With this in mind, we added details not commonly used in this type of motorcycle model but that were adapted to the millimeter for the 47 project. Other more common parts for Thruxton R are the stainless steel chaincover, the exhausts of our own manufacture and our star pieces, the cowl and side covers.
Regarding the color, David didn’t give us much room to debate since the decision was pretty much taken: gray or gray. Any of the gray variants would be ok, but the basic requirement was that it had to be related to metal. Tamarit motorcycles put his money on a satin titanium gray, with a darker gray combining this time with white to highlight the design lines, the brand logo and the number 13 appearing on the cowl.
