Burning beauty
Helios arrives as a god of Greek mythology, bringing the burning beauty of the Sun. A Cafe Racer of unique style and for which unique parts have been developed with hundreds of hours of craftsmanship.
Open-heart transformation
Depending on the project, the engine is opened and refurbished with a series of modifications that make it as good as new. Our team, when it is a premium project, is in charge of soot cleaning carbon deposits, adjusting valve seats, oversized pistons, grinding cylinders, valve seals, chains drive and planning cylinder heads. In this way, we take an engine and make it new.
Pure Racer
There is no motorcycle model and style that match better than the carbureted Thruxton 900 and the Cafe Racer style. This combination makes the Helios a true classic bike in pure Racer style.
Hour of sunset
An exclusive orange color is the one that covers the 109 project, Helios represents the reference of its name to the Sun God. An incredible result, but for which it was painted several times to find the color that would look and enhance the design of the bike.
A unique silhouette
One of the most remarkable parts of the project is the hydraulic monocoque that we developed for our most special motorcycles. A unique part that lifts up, allowing access to everything without the need to condemn the bike. On other bikes this part is welded, making it necessary to disassemble the bike to access certain parts.
On the monocoque frame we find a single-seat leather seat embedded in the tank, so that it is fully integrated into the shape of the same. A sense of continuity that further enhances the silhouette of the bike.
Dual look
A striking feature of the Helios is the custom-made methacrylate front fairing developed exclusively for this project, which also incorporates a double headlight. The front of the fairing, at the height of the headlights, has also been painted in a cream color to match the color of the seat upholstery.
Chassis cooling system
Nothing has been left untouched, the 109 Helios project has been given a new cooling system, in this way the oil cooling is done through the chassis, which lowers the temperature.
This new cooling system inside the chassis is made to eliminate the radiator, in this way has been made a circuit for the oil to pass through the chassis.
The rings that can be seen, are a work of art and really difficult to achieve, as they have been welded one by one without fail, as the oil passes through there and should not have any leakage.
A tailor-made sound
The sound of the 109 Helios has been designed from the ground up to develop a new dual overhead exhaust system. This new design places the exhaust outlet under the cowl and, in addition, two protective grids have been added in places of contact between the rider and the exhaust.
On the exhaust, handmade grilles have been incorporated into the exhaust pipe to prevent the heat generated by the exhaust from coming into contact with the rider's leg.
This dual exhaust system has been welded piece by piece and then taken to a laboratory so that an engineer could certify its safety. This is a unique part that has been built by hand for this bike.
Aesthetics and stability
Helios has been fitted with Victory wheels, 18" on the front wheel and 17" on the rear wheel. In addition, the rear wheel has a lenticular rim that prevents air from penetrating through the spokes, thus reducing turbulence and this new aerodynamics improves driving stability.
In addition to its main function, the lenticular rim also adds great value to the aesthetics of the bike.
A custom gold trim has been added to the rim, a unique design fixed with screws and made by our team, as lenticular rims do not have this rim added.
At the front wheel, you can also see the Galfer brake discs that have been incorporated into the project to improve the performance of the bike.
Easier to drive
At the rear of the bike, the mono shock absorber can be seen. This new component uses a single valve that exerts equal pressure, as opposed to dual shock absorbers. This results in better handling and stability.
This style of swingarm breaks with the traditional double arm design, and also makes it easier to adjust the chain tension (if it is the torque transmitting element). The aesthetics are also enhanced with this modification.
Otros detalles de Helios
At the front of the bike has been included a new front fender, whose support has been brass plated. In addition, in this image you can also see the Galfer discs and Beringer brake calipers.
On Helios, the brake light has been embedded in the rear of the cowl, just above the rear turn signals, which have been inserted into the chassis.
The length of the bike has been increased thanks to the extension of the swingarm, with a total added length of 15 cm/6 in.
For the development of the front fairing at Helios, it has been necessary to create from scratch an internal structure of the front fairing capable of attaching this part to the chassis. This is part of the development process of parts that normally is not usually seen in the final result.
Continuing with the front, we highlight the Kustom Tech levers with brake reservoir and Motogadget handlebar switches, essential to give life to the bike with only three buttons.
For this project the damping has been upgraded with a new Hagon shock absorber.
In this picture you can see the K&N filters, placed to help the engine cooling.
At the controls of Helios, we have machined aluminum triple trees, a new semi handlebar of our own manufacture and springs also developed by our team.
The modifications made on the bike, required a reinforcement of the chassis, so the project was taken to the laboratory to perform the relevant tests and prove its resistance.
Shiny like a mirror
In this project we have made a chrome plating process in all the metal parts of the motorcycle. This is a chemical process that leaves the parts of our motorcycles shining like a mirror. In addition, we have also taken care to the last detail, with the brass plating of the screws, tank cap or badges. Chroming, nickel plating or brass plating a part takes hundreds of hours of manual work and craftsmanship.
We have played with the combination of chrome and brass finishes, unifying with the rest of the metal parts of the bike.
The brain of the bike
One of our must-haves, the Motogadget odometer, has been included, embedded in the seatpost for a cleaner and more minimalist finish. It is also worth mentioning the incorporation of other Motogadget components, such as front and rear turn signals, control unit and electronic ignition key holder by proximity.
From Tamarit we are always looking for the best optimization of the electronics of our motorcycles and the engine control units work as the brain of the motorcycles, so in our projects we include the Motogadget engine control unit, the most complete on the market. Thanks to its functions and the app, the motorcycle can be completely monitored through your Smartphone.
For a more minimalist finish in line with the elegant aesthetics, the Motoscope Mini speedometer has been inserted into the triple trees. Innovative technology combines maximum display surface with minimum housing dimensions. For optimal readability in dark, sunlight and dawn conditions, the brightness of the LEDs varies automatically.
Also included in the project are the Kustom Tech levers, in the Deluxe version, made to measure and in aluminum. This component brings a retro style with its compact size and smooth lever.
Simplification of the electronics
On this bike the entire electrical system has been reassembled and simplified, with the consequent relocation of the electronics for which a box has been made with a more aesthetic and minimalist visual feel.
