This story is of great importance for the Tamarit Motorcycles team, because with this bike we are able to inaugurate our Speed Twin conversion gallery.
It took a year for Alonso, our client and owner of the #69 bike, to contact us again. It was already clear to him, he had been captivated by the Speed Twin, now he only had to sell his motorcycle. Just when said sale was approved, Alonso called Quique to begin the conversion of his Tamarit motorcycle. This transaction did not last even a month, in June his old motorcycle was sold and in July we already had the next member of our gallery in the workshop.
This time factor was a small handicap for the team since, as we have mentioned, it was the first Triumph Speed Twin that entered our workshop and we had to create parts that fit this model. Immediately everything was put in order, we began to create parts and adapt others to this model. This has also given us the possibility of developing Speed Twin parts that you have available in our parts catalogue on the web, something that some of our followers had been asking for some time.
The concept that was wanted to achieve in this conversion is a comfortable and urban motorcycle, something typical of the Brat Style. This makes it almost the same bike but enhancing all the positive aspects of it, such as the handlebars. Some elements that were incorporated were the exhausts, the mini eliminator kit, side covers, the usual Motogadget turning signals both front and rear, wing mirrors, Dakar front, sump guard, chaincovers, etc.
To give more prominence to the tires, they were changed for mixed tires that were combined with spoke wheels from a Thruxton 1200, expressly sought for the conversion. In addition, as usual, on this project we take the opportunity to present our new Speed Twin seat.
About the color, Alonso was very clear about it, he wanted the paint of his car. The car in question is a navy blue BMW and we have to admit that we loved the result, as the navy blue color looks fantastic in combination with our chrome color.
Alonso, is one of those clients that we have never seen but who, thanks to the personalized contact we make in each project, establishes a bond such that the same day that the motorcycle was delivered to him in País Vasco, he called to congratulate us about the work done on the bike known as Dreams.
The name of project #69 came with the help of Alonso's wife who asked him a simple question: “Wasn't that bike your dream? Well, there you have its name”. Dreams is the motorcycle number 69, a number that matches with the year of birth of Alonso's wife and number 58 on the side cover is the year of birth of our beloved owner of the first Speed Twin converted by Tamarit.
