Emerald stands out for its characteristic green color, just like the precious stone. Emeralds have been highly valued amulets for centuries. They represent power, immortality and eternal youth. A gemstone to which healing powers were attributed.

Works like Emerald start with an idea and become a reality through a 100% handcrafted process, with outcomes that often surpass what the creator had imagined. High precision in the methodology resulting in unique motorcycles, virtually unrepeatable and for which the borders of the divine become a reality.

A handcrafted process

+650 hours of work

An outstanding result in which around 11 professionals have been involved and in which more than 650 hours of work are foreseen to achieve this real jewel of mechanical engineering. An extensive list of parts and components that will be created from scratch for this project. From paper sketch to reality.

Carbureted engine

A symbolic engine

The heart of Emerald emits a sound that is easily recognizable as the classic engine par excellence. A vintage carbureted Bonneville, recognized as a time machine that takes us back in time and remains to this day a benchmark in the industry. A fully restored engine for the occasion that makes it the best version of itself.

The Bonneville 900 engine is probably the most iconic of all classic motorcycling in general. Its timeless identity has rightfully put it on the podium of the most famous motorcycles in history. Although it has evolved over the years, improving itself both in power and performance, as well as in aesthetics.

Rear monoshock

Single-axis damping

From the result that can be seen today, everything has been designed from scratch. And among it, there is a rear monoshock, and even the new base on which the seat rests. This provides a new silhouette, very different from that offered by the original model.

The way the monoshock works is the same as with the double shock. Among the benefits of this, the necessary efficiency is obtained with the work of a single shock absorber, in addition to easier access to the rear wheel.

This style of swingarm breaks away from the traditional double wishbone design, and also makes it easier to adjust the chain tension (if the chain is the torque transmitting element). The aesthetics are also enhanced with this modification.

Lenticular rear wheel

Aesthetics and stability

The addition of a lenticular rear wheel to the project is not only an aesthetic improvement but also a stability improvement. This type of wheel, by preventing air from passing through the spokes, reduces turbulence and provides new aerodynamics to the bike.

Also highlight the choice of a smaller front wheel, a considerably narrower size than the rear wheel, a classic 50's look.

A custom golden trim has been added to the lenticular rim, fixed with screws. A unique design made by our team, since lenticular rims do not have this rim added. In addition, we have played with the combination of chrome and brass finishes, unifying with the rest of the metal parts of the bike.

Leather seat and padding

Craftsmanship

Emerald has been completed with the creation of a new handmade leather seat. A work of craftsmanship that also includes padding of the same material. These have been flush with the sides of the tank, which means that two holes have been made in the place where they were to be placed to fit and equalize both surfaces. In this way, both the seat and the pads are part of the lines of the tank.

In the case of Emerald, a floating single-seater seat was chosen, i.e., it is separated from the tank and located on a specially created iron plate.

When projects are taken to a classic style, chrome plating is usually the order of the day, although not always the same parts are chromed. In Ongaku's case, almost all the metal parts of the bike, including the chassis, have been chrome plated.

Cooling inside the chassis

Temperature control system

Nothing has been left untouched, for Emerald a new cooling system has been created, in this way the oil cooling is done through the chassis, which lowers the temperature.

This new cooling system inside the chassis is made to eliminate the radiator, in this way has been made a circuit for the oil to pass through the chassis. The rings that can be seen, are a work of art and really difficult because they have been welded one by one without failures, since the oil passes through there and should not have any leakage.

Custom exhaust

Exclusive to Emerald

As for the work done on the exhausts of the 129 project, it is a unique part in the world that has been designed and manufactured exclusively for this bike. Short down low exhausts have been created that surround the stator cover, also enhancing the aesthetic role of this part.

This has been one of the most complex parts to create, because of its importance in the proper functioning of the bike and because it has never been done before. This exhaust has been manufactured by welding ring after ring of metal, in a handmade way and going through an engineer who could certify its safety.

Chrome plating

A seductive shine

Like any self-respecting jewel, Emerald's shine is ensured by chrome plating all of the motorcycle's metal parts. Chrome plating is a chemical process that leaves the parts of our motorcycles shining like a mirror. Chroming, nickel plating, or brass plating a part takes hundreds of hours of manual labor and craftsmanship.

This process differentiates us and positions us as a premium motorcycle brand.

If you look at the aesthetics of the bike, you can see that the chrome and brass finishes of the metal parts have a lot of weight on the design of the bike. This complex technique has been used to give that distinguished and elegant point. A combination of finishes with a spectacular result.

Double Board Track handlebar

Classic style

The new handlebar for Emerald's project borders the headlight at the top and bottom in a classic style, also marked by the bars that have been adapted to function as a headlight grid.

Despite its classic aesthetics, Emerald has been equipped with state-of-the-art components such as its LED headlight, the rim of which has been brass-plated. Also visible in the image is the headlight grid that has been created by joining the two handlebar bars.

For a more minimalist finish that follows the elegant line of the aesthetics, the Motoscope Mini speedometer has been inserted into the triple trees.

When projects are taken to a classic style, chrome plating is usually the order of the day, although not always the same parts are chromed. In Ongaku's case, almost all the metal parts of the bike, including the chassis, have been chrome plated.

Keihin carburetor

Power increase

The Keihin FCR39 carburetor has been included, which comes with trumpets that increase power at low revs. In addition, the image also shows the K&N filters fitted to aid engine cooling.

Carburetor trumpets are intended to improve air intake to the intake duct and do so by aligning the air evenly, which results in a greater volume of air entering the carburetor.

The rear fender is made of fiberglass with an aluminum bracket that has been machined from brass.

For rear lighting, LED strips have been embedded in the seat base plate, which not only function as brake lights, but also as turn signals.

On the tank you can see that the suede trims have been flushed to match the surface. In this way, they are integrated into the tank itself.

The bike's battery has been relocated and placed in a metal box created for the occasion, the simplification of the electronics has helped to make it look better integrated with the aesthetics.

Also included in the project are the Kustom Tech levers, in the Deluxe version, made to measure and in aluminum. This component brings a retro style with its compact size and smooth lever.

In Emerald has been taken care of every detail, including the screws that have been brass plated to continue the aesthetics of the bike.

At the rear of the bike, also highlights a golden chain, which accompanies the rest of the details in gold aesthetics of the bike.

The length of the bike has been increased thanks to the extension of the swingarm, with a total added length of 15 cm/6 in.

The modifications made to the bike required the chassis to be reinforced, so the project was taken to the laboratory to carry out the relevant tests and prove its resistance.
