The Thruxton is derived from the Bonneville motorcycles, and both are very clearly cafe racer motorcycles, but the Thruxton has a more sporty look. This aesthetic is mainly given by the riding position, with a low handlebar, the alloy rimmed wire wheels, the megaphone exhaust, and the race-like design on the fuel tank.

The Thruxton 2011 continues with the same classic design inspired in the 60s that previous years also had; the cafe racer style is something inherent in these motorcycles. The previous models had a wide color scheme, but for the Triumph Thruxton 2011 the color options are reduced to two: Phantom Black and Diablo Red, it however maintains the elegant stripe design that goes from the top of the fuel tank to the rear fairing, this design is in gold to complement the black and white for the red model.
