Each new project that arrives to our facilities is unique, and we love to be carried away by new ideas that would take us to break new boundaries. Looks pretty tricky that after more than 50 bikes, we are able to still amaze our clients with totally exclusive designs which always try to be better than the previous one. Several of these designs start to get shape as a result of the queries we receive through our contact form regarding budgets, such queries arrive daily from several parts of the world.
However, this is a special case since not all the projects come to our place from far away locations, there are times when the donor bike rides usually around our area. This is the Aritz case, who contacted us back in September from a village very close to ours, with the sole purpose of being the owner of the new entry of the Tamarit Motorcycles family.

Since the first idea interchange, we knew that Aritz owned a pristine Triumph Thruxton 1200 R and that he wanted a radical change on it. When a client decides finally for an exclusive project bike by Tamarit, several scenarios could happen. Some clients are pretty sure about what to do on their bike because they have seen thoroughly our works published over the time, so they know where the starting point is and which direction the project should take as well. The other way is that client would have watched a custom motorcycle, maybe on the internet or riding around and wanted to make a Triumph inspired on this bike in particular.
Finally, just as the project whose history you’re reading, there are other clients who come to the Tamarit Motorcycles workshop quite open minded and they want slightly more special changes, they have an idea in mind indeed, but they’re always ready to get new twists or upgrades that we could propose. Any of these ways have ended in a client happy and satisfied with the transformation, therefore we’re so pleased of getting new challenges and keep on making real the dreams of many bikers around Spain and the rest of the planet.
As mentioned before, Aritz wanted a full-scale change for his Thruxton, but he didn’t know how he could he do it in order to get the best result on the default bike. Something pretty clear from the very beginning was that he definitely didn’t want a Cafe Racer bike with a belly pan, of such a straight aesthetic canon. With this idea in mind, we kept the contact and, as the rest of the projects, we exchanged handmade sketches and computer-made sketches. After a few proposals, we set the idea of making a Café Racer indeed, but more urban-styled, avoiding the clip-ons and default fairings. Once all the ingredients were arranged, Tamarit pulled the throttle hard in order to get Aritz’s dreams come true.
Here at the workshop, we waited for quite a long time for the bike that would be the project #55 named Lauritz and would allow to make a Café Racer completely different from everything Tamarit Motorcycles had done up to date. Carrying a makeover such as that, keeping the style chosen but avoiding to stray away from the urban feeling we wanted to achieve, wasn’t an easy task. But as said, any challenge in Tamarit is more than welcome.
Once the bike arrived to our place, first thing to do was painting in satin black parts such as rims, valves, triple tees and engine covers. Other of the items added was the Mónaco seat, the chaincover and the side covers named Dakota, that would provide this much more sporty look.
On Lauritz’s specs we could highlight parts such as the “Dakar” front fairing, which was adapted and customized completely to the Thruxton headlight and grid, this installation was made aiming to boost that urban trending that both client and business wanted to achieve. This project also includes first time to be installed parts, such as the New Little Bastard for Thruxton R. This part resembles the fender for the old air cooled models. Talking about the rear part, an obvious and pretty frequent choice was the rear fender eliminator kit, that includes number plate holder, reflector and LED tail light. The usual cherry on top are the Motogadget devices, such as the front and rear turning signals.
All the Tamarit projects have “something” that makes them specials somehow, something that makes them shine and provides a soul. On Lauritz case, the most representative part are the Tiger exhausts made by the Italian manufacturer ZARD, meant for Street Scrambler. These exhausts were adapted to the Thruxton 1200 R that was the Project #55 and adds a personal and mould breaking touch.
This exhaust kit are not made by TMRT but available in our online shop. However, they would have to be adapted to other bike which is not an Street Scrambler. Last to mention, thanks to the exhausts new position, the inclusion of the Himalaya Sump Guard were possible, giving to this project the full change we were looking for.
There are not two equal bikes by TMRT.
